Computer Department Information System

Computer Department Information System (SKNCOECDIS) aims to automate traditional practices carried out to run the departmental library at Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering, Pune and to create e-library platform for sharing question paper, pdf/ppt notes, books, etc.

Technologies

SKNCOECDIS comprises of back-end server written in Java with MySQL as database which serves request from front-end desktop application operated by library in-charge and web application used by students and teachers. Apache Tomcat is used for hosting web application. Web front-end uses various technologies such as Ajax, Bootstrap, JWT. Library in-charges desktop application is bundled with native JVM for Linux platform; to form installer using BitRock Installer Builder.

Live Displays, Locator & Subscription Management System for Businesses (LDLSMS) aims to provide a convenient way for local businesses to broadcast their boards, advertisements, special offerings to their target customers & also provide the functionality to manage monthly subscriptions. Currently, the system supports messes in the college campus. This will help hostel resident students to choose from different nearby mess menus.

LDLSMS system is android application backed by Firebase storage and real-time database. The android application itself is written in Java & Kotlin. Users are registered with OTP verification of their mobile number using Firebase AuthUI. For the purpose of locating a business, Google Map API is used. Picasso library is used for handling image uploads and downloads.
